Vertikal Records is proud to present our debut release, a gem from Swiss progressive master André Absolut, titled “Step Through”. Vertikal is a new label from DJ Tomtron based in Bochum, Germany, with the goal to bring you the best in progressive and UK-trance. For our first release, we aim to show you the top-quality music we have in store for you.
In the last 3+ years, André has established himself as one of the top producers in Switzerland for floor-rocking progressive dance music. With a style described as “progressive, intelligent, forward-thinking dance music”, he has seen a number of successful releases and remixes on many of the world’s top labels, including Vapour, Loöq, Release Grooves, Nascent, Ritmic, Feed Me, Colour of Sound, Sumsonic, as well as a slew of upcoming releases on leading progressive labels such as Baroque, Sinister Recordings, Feed Me, and newcomers VP Records. Whether it be solo or in his successful collaborative effort as Absolut & Blade, André’s productions have gained support from all of the top DJs in the business.
On remix duties is German rising star Ryan Halifax. With a DJing career spanning nearly 15 years and several continents, Ryan is also developing an impressive production resumé with releases appearing on well-known labels such as Spiral Trax, Tatsu, Plusquam, and Yellow Sunshine Explosion. His latest single, “Loopslave” released on Earregular Recordings, was a huge hit worldwide, selling out its initial pressing within one week. Ryan was also half of the famous duo
D-Nox & Sly Flynn, who have thrilled psychedelic trance dancefloors for years.
With “Step Through * Original Mix”, André gives a preview of what to expect from his forthcoming album on Vertikal, showcasing his trademark style of smooth, elegant progressive grooves. An energetic yet floating melody gives way to a lush breakdown that is sure to leave the crowd breathless and asking for more.
In “Step Through * Ryan Halifax Remix”, Ryan pushes up the groove a notch without losing the touching feeling of the original. An energetic bouncing bassline drives the track through melodic atmospheres and juicy stabs, making this perfect for those peak hours when the crowd demands maximum drive.

Founded by DJ Tomtron to represent the whole range of progressive and UK-trance styled tunes available these days.The Vertikal Records DJs aim to show you which definition hits their minds and hope to hit yours too - its members are so far:
André Absolut from Switzerland who will release his debut album around May 2005 and already gained huge success and respect for his releases on labels such as Nascent, Sog, Color of Sound, Release Records, Feed Me and Vapour and Baroque just to name a few of them.
Frederik Flanger from Germany who is djing since 94, he´s also responsible for Vertikal's design, public relation, bookings and A&R @ Vertikal Records.
And of course DJ Tomtron, who is infected with the trance-virus for a long time, the label‘s head and general manager of Vertikal.
