Highpersonic Whomen - Push The Limit
Release date: June 6th 2007
For a decade now, Finnish Goa Trance-based record label giant Exogenic Records has been providing Scandinavia, Europe and the rest of the world with some of the most groundbreaking, body-shaking music in the genre, and the latest album release by the infamous Highpersonic Whomen surpasses their world-class standards. Exogenic founded itself in Finland with strong roots within the Goa Trance genre; since then the stellar success of this label has allowed them to branch out into other musical genres. The wide diversity of their collaborative capability, working with well known names like Kiwa and Loopus in Fabula, combined with the awesome creative alent of Highpersonic Whomen themselves, has led to this latest release, "Push The Limit", a superbly masterful arrangement of genre-spanning psytrance which is beyond a doubt one of the hottest releases across the globe this year.

TRACK BY TRACK:
Upstairs (HW vs Setherian)
Highpersonic Whomen teams up with Oxygen Records artist Setherian to whip up a tribal progressive style of track with all the fixin's... punchy, healthy uptempo percussion; thick, meaty basslines; ethereal synth pads and sweeps, and effects that take you to a place somewhere between deep underwater to high up into the sky. This one will be a surefire hit at the outdoor full-moon forest parties... a perfect soundtrack to outdoor nighttime environments.
In The Moment
Keeping up the energy "Upstairs" let out with, HW's "In The Moment" greets us with spacious drumscapes and synth rhythms which seem to blanket you like a fog. The bassline is bouncy and gets you right into your groove. Elements of progressive and psychedelic trance abound... from the resonant echoing background pads to the acidic lasers and phasers, "In The Moment" is a high-voltage electrifier of a trance track.
Bite Your Lip
Masters of electronic fusion, HW mashes up filtered deep house beats with gnarly, distorted bass and industrial vocals to produce a booty grindin' gothic-esque track which may be just the ticket for automatic dancefloor ignition! "Bite" strikes a delicate equilibrium between the old-school housey industrial trance sound reminiscent of the Analog Pussy / Killing Joke days... with all the dairy products conveniently left out.
Mind Over Matter (HW vs Kiwa)
The nighttime sky grows a shade darker as "Mind Over Matter" comes up in the playlist... a bumping of heads between two of Exogenic's finest names produces a trance piece that's loud, low and full-on. Expect plenty of knob tweakage and synth psychedelia in this one! Meant undoubtedly for the peak hours of the night Kiwa and HW provide some great audio tension-and-release action in this great composition.
Black Lung (HW vs Sportmeister)
Tribal drumming meets electric blues keyboard and pads as this glitch-tastic stomper thumps into the audiospace... synthesized weeble-wobbles and gated trance rhythms layer thickly together for maximum atmosphere. One of the greatest aspects of this piece is the astonishingly organic, abstract basslines, riding thin lines between slap bass and synth. There's plenty of sound worked into this one to keep it fresh through tons of rotations.
Push The Limit
Highpersonic Whomen show off their incredible arrangement talent yet again in this one! The percussion is painstakingly put together and no two sounds seem to sound the same, even to the most scrutinizing aural enjoyers out there. The uptempo beat and nomadic acid pads offer maximum movement inspiration... great use of vocal manipulation and heart-pounding sixteenth note basslines make for a great progressive psytrance summer rocker.
Multiplay
This eighth track on the album seems like a landing signal to the mothership... plenty of airy reverbed effects build a spacious atmosphere for the tweakage to follow. Before long, they have arrived; insectile synth blips flit from left to right in this audioverse, and just when you think things are settling into some kind of order, this track morphs from the bassline up into a highly danceable groover simply born to fill a forest clearing with good mood.
Lycurgos
This funky electro composition relies heavily on the intricate percussion and techy, breaksy basslines at first before the extras subtly begin filtering in. This one is definitely abstract and out there... heavily synthesized and processed sounds bridge the old and the new seamlessly and take you for rides into parts unknown. The vocals may be the only thing anchoring you to reality as your body begins unconsciously moving itself to this groove.
Delete The Dancefloor (HW vs Loopus In Fabula)
What a better meeting of minds could possibly be conceived of.... the Whomen combine powers with long-time electronic music veteran Loopus in Fabula to bring you a bouncy, smiles-inspiring housey trance track! Clean, warm and well mastered, each sound sits in its right place... the drums encircle you, the synthesizers speak to you from neither here nor there... an overall very enjoyable track good for either dancefloor antics or chilled mental relaxation.
We are looking for quality promoters, festivals, and production crews worldwide to host Highpersonic Whomen CD Release events.
