Here we are with the third long awaited album from LOOPUS In FABULA: FAT LADIES BINGO!
the title itself reveals that, as always, these guys are having a hard time taking things too seriously: their music is made for fun, to laugh and for joyful happy dancing. Loopus has established himself a reputation for the so called "funkedelic" sound :a mixture of psytrance and funky disco sounds... Actually there is more (or less), what can be called a total crossover of influences with an electro, progressive, jazzy, circus feeling blended with the discipline of psytrance: a mind twisting psychedelia with a full running bassline...
the new album will not deceive the futuristic retro fans with its little cameos: Prince samples in "CONTROVERSY", Herbie Hancock in "ROCKIT", a touch of Duran Duran in "FAT LADIES BINGO", the title track, David Bowie in "LETS DANCE", Moroder in "FEEL AGAIN" and many other which we wont reveal to not spoil the surprise....
Besides, this work is just simply a dancefloor killer which will shake and amuse even the most lazy and recalcitrant folks!!
Loopus in Fabula is originally the project of Matteo Stroppa and Jacopo Barbaccia, from Milano, Italy. They have been making music for almost 10 years now, starting with an electrojazz background (Matteo played sax, Jacopo keyboard) and then moving towards trance around 1998. They released tracks on various labels from all over the world: Digital Psionics (AUS), Surreal Audio (FIN), ZMA (GRE), Flow (POR), Exogenic (FIN), Resonoise (UK), Devic Craft (GRE), Candyflip (GRE) and their first album "LOOPUS IN FABULA" was released by the Australian label, Demon Tea Records (2002). Their second album (2003) “ASTROFUNK”, as well as this new one, is released on their own label "FABULARECORDS". In 2004 Fabula Records released the compilation "ULTRAPOP" where they exposed their music and djing philosophy putting together, a collection of works from artists all around the globe who are looking for something "different" in the broad psytrance genre...
The tracks are the result of the production of Matteo together with Jacopo, and the collaboration of Matteo with Paul Kearney ,Ritchie Hinkson and Valo Lankinen.
Paul Kearney is a multitalented drummer, keyboardist and electronic producer from Australia featured in the track “FAT LADIES BINGO”. His interests run from tech-house passing thru electro and psytrance. His debut album "Mainframe" is a brilliant eclectic composition.
Richard Hinkson, is another multi instrumentist from Melbourne, member of the infamous Mantrix project: a distinctive, yet diverse strain of Psychedelic Trance music, which explores multiple sub genres of underground dance music. Mantrix has released 5 albums up to date and has a big history of live performances. Richie is featured in the track "DOOFY DUCK".
Valo Lankinen is a young member of the new wave of groovy finnish psytrance. His project Vishnudata will create a lot of pleasant shivers in the near future. Loopus did a rmx of one Valo's track called DREAMSCHWARTZ (rmx 4 Visnudata)
Pristine audio quality from the SON KITE mastering.
Produced by FABULARECORDS, distributed by Arabesque
