Le dernier soir c'était blindé, logique ^^ Sinon, le max que j'ai vu (et ça n'engage que moi étant donné que j'étais pas tout le temps au main) c'était pour Man With No Name et le premier soir... Après, niveau chiffres, j'ai pas le compas dans l'œil, donc j'peux pas te dire

LETTER FOR THE BOOMERS | PART I
Dear Boomer,
Days are finally getting back to normality – whatever that means. Some of us are with the 'Boom blues syndrome' or PBS - Post Boom Syndrome while others are already in full swing on a daily life where the Boom memory lasts for good.
Onsite we are breaking down all the beautiful structures that have been built and a sense of kalachakra mandala is present – we built a colourful Boom cosmology grain by grain and now we are tearing it apart. It is now time to say thanks to the Boom workers, to all the artists that spread the magic and to the Boomers that made this edition possible.
Here we share our thoughts on some topics on how we have experienced Boom 2010, one of the most successful
editions so far.

The Boom 2010 Background
We started the Boom production back in June 2009. The beginning was full of changes as some people left the team and others came in. Like in all transition periods, our own processes involved facing resistances from many people and at the same time getting the support of so many others. For us the most important thing was to keep the Boom psychedelic essence and upgrade some ideas while remaining faithful with the purest intention for Boom. The theme of water materialized this sense of fluidness. And our motto, "Make Change Happen" started to reverberate from this time onwards.
The idea of finding a new location was the best way for Boom to go into new horizons and in November we got the new venue that has amazed everybody. It was one of the reasons for such a good Boom edition. Along this period one of Boom's totems, our colleague Jorge Fialho, got ill and eventually died in April 2010. It was eight months of emotional turmoil for all of us. He is an inspiration to us and we'll keep honouring his legacy: Jorge, you are always with us!
On the work level, we flattened our work structure and a cooperative process of thinking about the whole festival based on a solid team from production, art and construction ignited. We all felt that for Boom to be a special moment all teams should develop art, discipline and compassion. The pre-production was an effort full of good achievements; construction period was epic: from May onwards the vibe was high onsite with an amazing spirit between all the teams. Thanks to all of you that have been with Boom Festival during this unforgettable period!
Healing Area
The (Un)Popular Boom-Distances
We designed the new Boom venue taking into account two sides: the Boom sector and the entrance sector (with parking lot and caravan park). We didn't want to have such a huge distance however we needed to take some measures on occupying the place of the Boom-Off as most of Boomers didn't enjoy the noise from that tecnival in 2008. It was a no-option to have them next door. Plus we were assured that there would be transfers organized by the local city council and in the end that didn't work out.
The distance that people needed to walk generated a bad reaction and, despite the fact that distances are also huge at many festivals of the world, we won't repeat the same design. One thing is our priority for the future: the caravan park and car park will not be placed so far. Our intention is to put cars and caravans on the north side of the Boom venue, around the Boom Bus station.
With regards to the distances within the Boom sector we do feel that by having such a beautiful place we can avoid the sense of overcrowding, which resulted perfectly at Boom. The areas had space, but at the same time there was a cosy feeling and a sense of freedom all over the venue. We can improve on the placement of the flea market though.
In conclusion, the solution for cars and caravans was not the best and we will commit ourselves to solving this
in time for 2012.

The Vibe at Boom 2010
The vibe that was felt and built up this year was one of the best we ever experienced. There was a sense of tribe, a collective joy and an amazing laid back way of experiencing Boom. Collective waves of cheering and whistling could be heard everyday in a pure and simple celebration of happiness. We were happy to see how our EcoTeam cleaned the venue and how receptive Boomers were to leave no trace. Most of the people enjoyed the cultural variety and a playful vibe was felt at Boom 2010. One more example of a higher self-awareness was that we had the lowest number of cases at the Kosmicare ever.
Many thanks for bringing so much shine and positivity to Boom 2010!
Conditions At the Caravan Park
For the first time we had restaurants, water points and toilets at the caravan park.
These are improvements compared with previous editions. Showers were not there as some trucks have these facilities. We opted not to put more showers on site as water is a scarce resource here and the more showers we have the bigger is our water footprint. Even so, for the next edition we feel it's imperative to build showers at the caravan park and place it nearer the Boom venue.

Art: The Most Art-Oriented Boom Ever
Boom has always been a festival of arts and this year we wanted to do the most art-oriented Boom ever, as art has the ability to open our creative portals *and connect us with a universal language of expression. We involved more people from the Boom team in finding the best colour codes, projects, artists and the finest materials.
The notion of art was developed in many areas: bioconstruction (using bamboo, cane, clay, superadobe), land art, art installations, visuals, garden design, theatre, art gallery, performing arts, cinema showcase, to name just a few. In the end we had 780 artists at Boom and a sense of open-air gallery was fully achieved.
Some of the best feedback we got so far went to: the art installation made with trash from Shrine and the Gamelatron embedded in it; the magnificent Drop and the pristine Dow Tow; the Sacred Fire stage and its gardens; the Keynote statue and the holograms at the Dance Temple; the Art Gallery with an exquisite selection of visionary art; the crate structure at the Groovy Beach; the land art that was built by the hands of Vicente Bittencourt. And, of course, the always-popular Kaleidoscope and its giant aquatic being! You can see some of the Boom art in our photo gallery on our website.

Ticket Pricing: A Major Problem
Back in 2008 we had the feeling that Boom had gotten too big. At the time we opted to limit the number of attendees to revive the cosiness and the sense of belonging that have always been a part of Boom. A limited number of people require an extra effort for funding the whole festival.
Now we understand that our limitation of tickets increased the prices of the festival: the ticket, the prices of shops and restaurants, the overall pricing of vendors. It is our understanding that we are an inclusive festival and we don't want to become an elitist event where attendees can only participate through an expensive ticket.
Our measures to rethink the price of the ticket are to shorten the festival's duration, reduce and downgrade some of our projects, always keeping high the quality of the program. We feel that many people were left behind due to financial limitations, so we'll make it possible for more people to participate and motivate the vendors to lower their prices.

Music: The Ups and Downs
Our motto for music at Boom was to express the modern music aesthetics and explore new realms of psychedelic/trancey music in a bigger variety of genres: the Ambient Paradise for instance expressed this idea perfectly.
In general we enjoyed the music that was played in the four music stages. We felt some of the DJs that played in the afternoon at the Dance Temple were not playing adequate music for a psychedelic dance floor. Besides that we enjoyed the quality of the music at Boom 2010.
The Sacred Fire had a zenith with a monumental ethno-trance jam session on the August Full Moon with the likes of Ganga Giri, Hilight Tribe, Wild Marmelade, Tribal Dance and Olive Tree on stage. The Groovy Beach gave voice to all that has 0, ,been around from techno to dubstep and glitch – we enjoyed the deeper music and disliked the housier sets though. Ambient Paradise was simply amazing with the concerts of Murcof, Makyo, Antonio Testa or Cloudcycle still present in our ears. The Dance Temple revived goa trance with a massive response and mirrored perfectly the sub-genres of psytrance whilst taking into account the symbiosis between night and day music – we won't repeat some afternoon music that was too cheesy for there though. However, looking at the holograms, the amazing visuals, the colour code and the sacred geometry inspired stage and design there was a vast psychedelic universe living at the Dance Temple.

J etais parti pour écrire des lignes et des lignes
et finalement je n aurais pas assez de mots pour décrire tout ce que j ai vu et ressenti ,cela fait des années que je suis sur les dance floor et le boom m a cassé les pattes et les mirettes.
Une experience vraiment extraordinaire pour des gens qui le sont tout autant
on etait majoritairement là pour vivre quelque chose d'ultra positif et ca la fait
tudo bom!!!!!
aprés le boom c est du sport physiquement ca ce mérite
je l ai vu et entendu sans aucun produit juste les good vibes et j ai pourtant pris une grosse perche
avec la déprime qui à suivi
il me tarde dans 2 ans

Jvais la faire courte, car comme dis plus haut, je peux écrire un roman, personne ne pourra décrire ce que j'ai ressenti durant ce putain de festoche.
C'était bonheur, gigantesque, chaud, une sono de ouuuuuuuuf, des supers chills, un super lac, de la déco un peu partout, des chiottes pas trop dégueulasse.
Quelques mésaventures, forcément, sinon on se croirait mort et au paradis tellement c'était bien ^^'
Donc bon, si vous vous reconnaissez les fouilleurs de tentes, évitez notre chemin
Petite déception au niveau de la line up aussi, j'aurai préféré un peu plus de psy (à la nun shaker par exemple, psymetrix and co), un peu plus de prog' qui galope en journée, mais bon, les goûts et les couleurs...
Ha, et spécial big up au dj qui a osé nous sortir un morceau de musique classique en plein milieu de la nuit au milieu d'une dark qui bourrine. C'était infâme, on a bien rigolé

Je crois que c'est difficile de faire des festivals en France à cause des autorités, des flics, de la sécurité demandée et de la connerie des gouvernements...et non parce que les gens râlent.....
et pis, si tout le monde dit " c'était génial, c'était super, parce que ci ou parce que ça, c'est bien, ça motiv', mais est-ce que ça fait avancer les choses?.... oui. mais, Je trouve que c'est sain de parler des mauvais côtés, de pas faire les béni-oui-oui à tout va, tout est bien tout est merveilleux...
y a vraiment des trucs à pas faire, comme un Son mal réglé ou des mixs mal préparés mal joués...
par contre se foutre à poil, je vois pas le problème...lol....

vraiment trop club la journée, cool qu'ils veuillent changer ça à la prochaine, car "on" nous écoute, mais des fois c'était dla bonne prog bien mixée énergique!!! la bonne grosse Full-On de 6h à 13h, c'était énoooooooooorme, même si pas trop de surprises et d'inédits, ni de mixs qui déboitent....
jai loupé le Dub sur la Groovy, dég, couché à 21h tous les soirs pour me réveiller à 6 h pétante....mais trop bien le Dub sur un bon gros mur!!!....

The second part of our letter looks at the ecological commitment we had at Boom and some further explanations about this year’s edition to our fellow Boomers. We also announce the dates and ticket sales for Boom 2012!
Dow Tow's organic shaped Bioconstruction
MATERIALS: THE BASIC INGREDIENTS FOR A BEAUTIFUL BOOM
Reuse, Recycle and Reduce: For the second time we did a partnership with one huge festival in Portugal – Rock In Rio Lisbon - to recycle their rubbish and materials.
We went there to get timber, flooring, metals, plastics and some other materials.
Boom reused 86,475kg of materials thus avoiding overconsumption of resources for the construction of our festival. According to the tool IWM -2 (Integrated Waste Management Model 2), developed by the Lisbon University IST, we avoided the emission of 254,000 kg of CO2 with this initiative.
Some other facts: 90% of the Healing Area, for instance, was done with reused materials. 80% of Groovy Beach was made of recycled pallets. 100% of Golden Shack Pagoda and Gamelatron was done with recycling of rubbish. 100% of restaurants cover made of recycled lycra.

Ferrocement: We built both the water treatment unit 'STAR' with the social technology ferrocement and a water tank of 240,000 lt. Ferrocement is an economical technique based on cement, sand, water and chicken wire.

ENERGY: NOTHING IS POSSIBLE WITHOUT IT
In 2008, Boom Environmental Program launched "Your Oil Is Music" (we collected waste vegetable oil for generators). This year we went further on the realm of energy and we founded the Boom Lab.
Boom Lab Facts:
We built 3 small mobile photovoltaic stations with 6 panels of 80 watts each. They were used for the offices of areas such as production, Sacred Fire, Healing Area and Ambient Paradise. They generated 2.4 kilowatts/hour per day.
The 4th solar station produced at Boom Lab had an output of 3.2 kilowatts/hour per day from solar energy.
Boom Lab also developed a bigger station that was placed near the logistics and main workshops. Two mobile trackers were based on 12 panels each and followed the tilt of the sun producing 13 kilowatts/hour per day.

WATER: EVERY DROP COUNTS
Water was the theme of Boom 2010 and we developed a system for water treatment onsite, showcasing technologies that are useful for human communities.
All grey water from restaurants and showers was treated onsite and recycled for irrigation.
We built a water treatment unit we called ‘STAR’. The system was based on bio-remediation and evapotranspiration. With this unit we achieved the goal of treating 100% of all waste water at Boom.
Total waste water generated: Restaurants – 300 mil litres. Showers 2,5 million litres.
Total water treated and recycled at the festival: 100% of waste water.
One kilometre of infiltrating channels were constructed for the shower´s water. This track is part of an integrated system designed to restore the natural hydrology cycle of the area.
Free Water: All participants were encouraged to use the fountains providing treated free water. This also reduced the amount of waste generated.
Educational signs and the "Dharma Dragon" encouraged the public to be responsible in their water use.
Objectives for 2012: Eliminate 100% of water bottles during construction period. Improve shower and water point facilities at the caravan park.
Compost toilets
SANITATION: THE VERY PARTICULAR ISSUE
For the first time, 98% of toilets at Boom were composting.
159 Composting (no water) toilets were constructed.
15 permanent composting (no water) toilets were constructed.
No black water was generated.
In comparison with normal households this means that 50% of the water that normally would be used to flush toilets was saved.
The biological filter used in all toilets meant that 70,000 lt of organic high quality liquid fertilizer was generated. This is stored for agriculture production.
BOOM ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM
We know that Boom is still not a fully sustainable festival. In spite of that we've been taking all the possible steps and commitments to reduce the trace of this event for the Sacred Earth. There is still a long way to go and huge improvements to be done. We acknowledge the space to evolve and the ecological pathway is an imperative for us, so we'll keep researching the ways to reduce our footprint and give back to the Sacred Earth what a gathering of more than 20,000 people does to the environment. We Are All One.

Ashtrays: 20,000 pocket ashtrays delivered at the welcome point, Boom Bus station and Info Stand thus reducing the trace of cigarette butts onsite.
Recycling: Although we reduced, recycled and reduced in many aspects as you read above, recycling at Boom was a big issue. We took a step back regarding recycling at Boom when city council told us they couldn’t carry it out properly. Not only was the amount of plastic outrageous during both the construction period and Boom itself, the public system for recycling was not running at all.
They didn’t grant us recycle bins nor the transport for the plastic/metal/paper into recycling stations. Without local recycling units we couldn’t find any service that could rid us of this rubbish properly.
For next year priority goes for recycling bins and finding a way to partner with an NGO that can channel all the plastic properly.

ABOUT BOOM FEEDBACK AT SOCIAL NETWORKS, FORUMS AND SITES
We spend dozens of hours online and we read everything about Boom carefully. We love to read feedback about what went well and not so well.
One major point of negative feedback refers to some of the music played in the afternoons. We agree with this and we’ll change the format as we wrote already in our Letter for the Boomers Part I. But we need to underline that in no case will Boom clash with the creative freedom of DJs.
Another bit of negative feedback regards distances. We agree and as we wrote in the previous volume of this letter, we’ll change the whole design of the site to make it easier and with better conditions (for instance, showers and more water points at the caravan park).
Positive feedback goes to: the vibe of the festival; the art installations, the bamboo and cane constructions; the cultural diversity of Boom with music, performing arts, theatre, videoart, to name just a few; the new location; the intercultural atmosphere of a gathering of the tribes - we had people from 70 countries.

Dear Boomer,
The second part of our letter looks at the ecological commitment we had at Boom and some further explanations about this year’s edition to our fellow Boomers. We also announce the dates and ticket sales for Boom 2012!

MATERIALS: THE BASIC INGREDIENTS FOR A BEAUTIFUL BOOM
Reuse, Recycle and Reduce: For the second time we did a partnership with one huge festival in Portugal – Rock In Rio Lisbon - to recycle their rubbish and materials.
We went there to get timber, flooring, metals, plastics and some other materials.
Boom reused 86,475kg of materials thus avoiding overconsumption of resources for the construction of our festival. According to the tool IWM -2 (Integrated Waste Management Model 2), developed by the Lisbon University IST, we avoided the emission of 254,000 kg of CO2 with this initiative.

salut salut , je my mets , c'est parti.
Départ de chez moi ( toulouse) le samedi 14 dans l'aprem , pour aller rejoindre le couple d'amis ,caro et tonio, que j'ai rencontrer 1 ans plus tot a la world people du mois de juillet ,trés bon feeling dés le debut, et donc on a décidé de se faire le boom ensemble. donc une fois chez mon poto,on se met a le grosse tache qui nous attendais : le posage d'une vielle galerie rouillée recuperée sur un vieux trafic tout autant rouillé...et mon pote ayant un 508 la largeur n'est pas vraiment la meme , donc pour faire court bidouillage,percage et repercage juska tard ds la nuit .et la vous devez surement vous dire "mais prk ces branleurs ne l'ont pas fait 1 mois avant ?!! " c pas faux... sauf que mon pote a récuperer le camion de chez le mécano seulement le vendredi ( camion qui était au garage depuis le moi de juin car joint de culasse sur la route du festival skabazac pour aller voir cypress hill).
Donc aprés une courte nuit, départ ( sans galerie , car pate de fixation vraiment trop courte) mais départ le dimanche 15 a 13h00 de gratens (31) , on passe la frontiere espagnole en fin d'aprem, sans prblm, et un peu plus loin a une station un mercos caisse se gare a coté de nous et on entend un "alors!! on va au boom ?!!" , rencontre d'un couple super sympa qui venait de nantes avec qui on a roulé quasi tte la nuit , frontiere portuguaise passé vers 05h00 du mat, le boom a - de 150 km c cool !
Dimanche 15 , on reprend la route vers 12h00 , on s'arrete a guarda pour faire course , plein de gazoil, etc...et arrivé au pré-camping en fin d'aprem. trés bonne idée ce camping provisoire, des potes m'avaient parlé des 24h00 de queue en 2008 j'imagine la galere.... mais la franchement ils ont bien gerer le truc, en + bar sonorisé , sanitaires, douches et eau a disposition.
mercredi 18, départ du pré-camping vers 12h00 et il nous fallu a peine 1h00 pour passer le chek-point, nikel . instalation du campement dans la foulée , un pti geuleton qui va bien et aprés: UN BON GROS PLOUF dans le lac, un pur moment de bonheur trés attendu...
et le soir ,direction le site du boom et découverte des structures , des stands , des jardins etc....VIVEMENT DEMAIN !!
Jeudi 19 , journée le cul dans l'eau et depart en fin de journée pour le boom , pure soirée , a mon gout la meilleures au niveau du son ( je n'aime pas trop la dark trance ) découverte d'une portuguaise (trop mimi en +...lol) derriere les platines "tamiris" qui nous a fait un set bien festif , live d'absolum au pti matin terrible!! suivit de mental broadcast , bien sympa aussi ...
bon voila , je vais pas raconter tous le reste du festoch, pour un 1er boom , j'en tire un bilan "mitigé positif" on dira , 2 gros point noir a mes yeux : LA CHALEUR (je sais , personne n'y peux rien et faut faire avec ) mais ajouté a la LONGUE DISTANCE du parking camion au festoch , je n'ai pas vécu le boom comme je l'aurais aimé, j'ai raté pas mal de truc, mais bon ..... l'ambiance est trés bonne , les gens ont le smile , ya eu des bonnes rencontres , en ce qui concerne la déco j'ai été décu par le chill-out, quand on voit ce que s'était en 2006 on se dit qu'il ne se sont pas trop foulé cette année, le sacred fire jolie mais pas exceptonnel , le dance temple: certe c trés bien construit mais la encore je trouve que celui de 2006 était plus jolie, plus " roots" avec les dessin peint a la main trés psiké, celui de cette année est plus uniforme au niveau des couleurs ... mais on va pas se plaindre ct une belle construction ,les mecs assurent , ya pas de doute.
et le groovy beach MAGNIFIQUE, g trop aimé , faut avoir de l'imagination pour crée ca , a chaque fois que j'y passé devant je le prenait en foto, c de loin la structure que j'ai le plus kifé, franchement BRAVO! a ceux qui l'ont réalisé
enfin bon voila , départ du boom le mercredi , retour bien passé , des souvenirs plein la tete ,et pour dans 2 ans faudra voir....
un gros bisous a tous les gens que g rencontrer las-bas ,a EVA une charmante brune avec qui g parlé le jeudi soir , qui fétait son 24eme annif pendant le boom mais que je n'ai pas eu la chance de recroisé... , a coco et benji nos marseillais de voisins que j'espere revoir au hadra festival , a caro et tonio que je v pas tarder a aller squatter un samedi soir ..lol et a tous les autres dont g zapé le nom .....ciao

Les orga ont carrément mis les moyen avec bien plus de décos et de d'activités a faire, j'ai été ébloui !!! Meme le dernier jour j'ai découvert des endroits c'est pour vous dire!!!!
Le gros bémol reste la distance parking -> festival, et cela surtout pour les gens en camion, je comprends pas comment vous avez fait
Certains disent meme qu'ils font expres pour que ce soit tellement la galere pour ramener nos courses (alcool et vivres) pour qu'on consomme la bas... Mais bon le lieu était divin !!!
Autre point faible reste les PRIX !!!! 8 euros un repas!!!! Sur la cote en france je veux bien mais on nous prends pour des millionnaires !!!!???? 2,5 euros la biere merdique!!!! Le portugal a le plus faible PNB/hab de l'europe (des 15) et on nous fait payer des prix Suédois. Bref
Sinon ya eu des journées mémorables niveau son mais trop trop trop de minimal sur le main floor... j'aurais voulu plus de grosse prog bien grasse. Pareil sur la groovy, la minimal cava mais ya autre chose... dnb, dubstep, tribe..??? non? ok.
Des éfforts énormes sur les sanitaires et douches, camping sympa.
Il y a eu pas mal de vols, pour nous ce fut 200 euros, des "objets" et un reveil avec un de ses connards fouillant carrément dans notre tente pendant qu'on dormait... Trop de kakous dealeurs/voleurs "coca coca!" vous savez de quoi je veux parler.
Mais sinon le Boom c'est le Boom et j'ai pas vu mieux encore !!!!

je voulais réagir sur la biere dégueulasse a 2.5 euros , ben c t meme ecrit sur la canette "sagres" ca agresse ..!! lol et pour les kakou/dealers sur le site du boom c t soft , j'en pas vu beaucoup mais au camping provisoire c t carrement abusé .. tte les 2 min ils nous proposaient leur merde, ils étaient au moins une vingtaine , et ils harcelaient grave.

En premier lieu vous trouverez une critique personnelle et très généraliste (ou plutôt très synthétisée) du Boom
(en tout cas de cette édition 2010).
Premièrement cette édition était très largement en dessous de ce que les habitués du Festival ont pu vivre les années précédentes. Il faut cependant reconnaitre que le Festival mérite probablement son coup d'oeuil pour les néophytes, absents lors des éditions précédentes.
Dès l'arrivée l'atmosphère sent le semblant et le réchauffé à plein nez, mais en moins bon. Les même pseudo artifices bio / bobo ne fonctionnent que dans l'imaginaire. Les boissons et la resto du boom sont immondes et hors de prix, les line-ups sans dessus dessous avec beaucoup d'artistes qui ont soit manqué de sobriété, soit manqué leur vocation (heureusement il y avait quelques bons dans le lot).
On sent bien que le Festival a été racheté et que l'esprit d'origine n'y est plus. On nous bassine avec le zero sponsorship alors qu'une banque finance beaucoup de choses....
Les dance-floors sont dépouillés, la déco baclée comparée a ce que l'on a pu connaître. Le main-floor et son fonction 1 poussent heureusement les décibels mais les artistes sont enfermés dans une structure extrèmement moche et ou ne ne les voit qu'à peine, voire pas du tout. Le floor techno et son inspiration Zerg tirée de Starcraft était particulièrement réussi, mais pauvre en son.
Les distances de marche étaient hallucinantes pour se rendre d'un point à l'autre et à trop vouloir éparpiller les floors on finit par perdre la sensation d'unité, si chère à l'esprit original de ce festival.
Le sacred fire et son chapeau d'Aladin raté (peutêtre était-ce un champignon, allez savoir) n'ont impressionné personne, sauf à la Tribal Night ou l'ambiance et le public étaient au Rendez vous.
On ne cachera pas que côté Artistes, hébergés dans des tentes salles, garnies de sacs de couchages usagers et sales eux aussi, avec des toilettes jamais nettoyées et des douches qui ne fonctionnent pas. Vraiment radin en ticket boissons et repas, vraiment la hote. Sans parler des heures d'attente derrière la porte du bureau de production qui ne gère en fin de compte : rien du tout car les décisions appartiennent a des financiers que nul ne rencontrera jamais.
Donc si vous avez vraiment 1000 euros et plus à perdre: allez au boom en 2012,
