.: Art of noiZ - X-mas Eve 2007 - Candyflip Records label party :."
Then from the East came these Magi
trailing their treasure to a city Northwest
guided along a bright star's path
travelling where Sunseth's seen best."
Art of noiZ, in collaboration with Eyelipse booking agency, will be hosting a
Candyflip Records label party to add a finishing touch to this year's Saturnalia and celebrate the annual return of Light. In 2002 Candyflip Records was born in the electrophonic underground of Thessaloniki, and grew up to become a cutting edge outlet for deep progressive and groovy psytrance. For this event seven artists have been summoned to display the broad array of tones and tunes that represent the label. Studio 80 on Rembrandt square in Amsterdam will set up both its rooms for this special event. For common convenience the two stages are divided as progressive and minimal, while styles may cross the road from techhouse to the lighter side of psytrance as well.
The eccentric edge to progressive electronic music of
Kosmas Epsilon will need no introduction for a broad audience of dance addicts, as his dj sets are equally renowned around the globe as his production skills. Kosmas' tracks can be found in the bags and charts of DJ's like Sasha, John Digweed, James Holden, Pete Tong and Tiesto, to name but a few. Prepare to drift to a higher plane.
Arara is one of the two initiators of the psytrance project Andromeda, known for its broad-n-bright sound and mind melting melodies. Born Greek, now based in Holland, Nikos started playing at the legendary ELF and now frequently travels the world to perform live or play one of his highly charged dj-sets, that over the years have become deeper and more groovy.
Yves Eaux, an all-round dj/producer/director, who made his entrance to the dance scene on original dutch warehouse parties during the mid-nineties, follows a more tribal approach to the international sound of today. Yves creates a state of euphony, that engulfs the crowd and transcends all language, steering all communication to follow one general rule: music over mind over matter.
As part of the original crew at the fabled Acid club in Thessaloniki,
Peter Zen got entangled in psychotronic music halfway through the last decade of the twentieth century. Nowadays, he spreads his wings far beyond the borders of Greece, playing music for inner travelling, or to put it in his own words: "close your eyes, open your ears".
Analogue started out as a disk jockey for radio stations in Greece and his selection quickly gave him the opportunity to play clubs and parties. A progression of positive vibes and unseasonal warmth flows from this Greek mountain, grooving down through a valley of various rhythms, gaining strength to rise to new peaks.
Reg.H, a progressive DJ from Germany, influenced by electro and techno, will be returning from Germany, after his recent appearance on Bleep Bizarre in Studio 80. His style is powerful and effective, low on the tempo, yet brimming with surprising combinations of beats and a high flow of energy.
Closing this line up will be
Stratos, without whom this event would not be possible, as he is the label manager of Candyflip Records. He started playing in 2000, climbing from small underground parties to international festivals, established Candyflip two years after and recently created a new label, called Slik't Music, ever broadening the range of hypnotic vibes coming from the electrophonic capital of Greece, Thessaloniki.
Expect to be surprised!
