Dj Iguana's (aka half of Naked Tourist) taste in psytrance, or as SE call it, Forest Trance. 'In Plants We Trust' pulls together tracks from some of my favorite artists, with a solid outdoor theme tying the lot together. Contributions from Atriohm, Drury Nevil, Onkel Dunkel, Gidra and Savage Scream among others indicate quality is the game here, and as a compilation it does not disappoint. Moody without tipping into spooky, dark and driving without collapsing too far into overwhelming noise-mongery. Highlights include Gidra's 'Vegetative Process' - the low end is tight and clean, the FX-play fully immersive. Atriohm and Encephalopatcys team up on 'Gaca' - a monstrous, bubbling affair, offering engrossing synthetic environments and hair-raising synths. The spirit of both Auraquake and Parvati Records looms large over the choice of tunes here. Well recommended.
